STEP 1
Choose an official ENERGY STAR builder. Then from
progress-energy.com/eehome, select NC Energy Star builders.

OR

If you have a newer or remodeled home, start with STEP 3 to determine if your home is energy-efficient enough for ENERGY STAR qualification.

STEP 2
Work with an ENERGY STAR builder to create a plan for building your new Energy Efficient Home.

STEP 3
You (for a newer or remodeled home) or your builder (for new construction) contacts a qualified home energy rater to test your home for ENERGY STAR compliance.  Get a list of raters by visiting progress-energy.com/eehome.

STEP 4
A home energy rater evaluates your home and provides an ENERGY STAR certificate.

STEP 5
Send your ENERGY STAR certificate to Progress Energy to qualify for your 5 percent discount.
