Securing Florida's energy future through transmission improvements

Our forecasts indicate that demand for electricity in our 35-county service territory will grow by more than 25 percent in the next decade. This growth and associated energy use requires long-term planning to ensure we can meet this demand.

Progress Energy Florida has identified the potential need to add about 200 miles of transmission lines across 10 counties to maintain reliability and to move power efficiently throughout the region and state.
